A one-page routine file prepared before travel keeps the pet's current routine, handover details and contact plan in one place. Ask which information and belongings the business accepts during the first conversation, then complete only the relevant fields.
Who is it for and what does it solve?
The file is for people leaving a cat or dog with a pet hotel who do not want to miss an important detail during a verbal handover. It records the information you already have in a short, readable form instead of prescribing a new care plan. Both sides can then use the same note at drop-off.
Contact and handover details
- Contact: Your phone number, a second contact person and the preferred communication channel.
- Stay: Drop-off and collection dates, the discussed time window and the handover address.
- Basic record: The pet's name, species and any other identity information requested by the business.
- Acceptance: Current conditions agreed during the conversation and any documents you are asked to bring.
Do not treat profile information as the final answer. Confirm dates, availability, handover times and acceptance conditions directly with the business.
Current routine and handed-over items
Record the home routine in short sentences. Mark a time as approximate when it is not fixed. Discuss any detail the business may not be able to follow before the handover day, then update the note using the answer you receive.
- Current observations about rest, activity and toilet times.
- The name and amount of any prepared product or material given to the business, together with the owner's existing use note.
- Whether a carrier, lead, bed or another belonging has been handed over.
- The business's current answer about the area where the cat or dog would stay.
Keep a separate short list for the physical handover. Add a name, quantity and identifying detail for each item, and confirm an item is accepted before including it. Mark what needs to be collected at pick-up on the same list.
The one-page final check
Write down which channel will be used for updates, when you should be contacted and who to call if you cannot be reached. Do not assume a photo or message frequency; ask about the business's practice. Petkonak does not take reservations or payments and does not guarantee updates, availability or service quality.
Add a date to the file. If the plan changes, share a new dated version instead of amending an old copy. The file is complete once you and the business have reviewed contacts, dates, belongings and the answers received at handover.
From preparation to a business search
Once the draft is ready, review pet hotel options. Use cat hotels or dog hotels for category-specific results. Before a conversation, check the before pet hotel handover guide, and use the pet hotel selection guide to compare businesses with the same criteria.
